Today's golf psychology session helps you understand how to find your 'A' game on the course!  On the range, one should practice one's swing and focus on mechanics, but on the course, one should not be thinking about mechanics, but rather just on hitting the ball to the target.  On the course, your shot should be automatic and you should trust your game and not over-analyze, as this will simply distract you from focusing on the here and now of your game.

Today's golf psychology session helps you understand how to stay focused when your competitors want to hold conversations.  This can be distracting, but one should relax one's focus between shots anyway.  So, having conversations between play is fine, as one shouldn't be thinking too much between shots - on the Course.

It's also okay to tell your opponent that you would prefer to concentrate on your game and have silence.  The important thing is to discover what allows you to concentrate best on your game and then follow this through.

Today's golf psychology session helps you understand how to best maintain concentration during performance.  (This session uses an 11-year-old with Attention Deficit Disorder).  In order to maintain concentration during performance, it is vital to focus on the process and not the results!  It is therefore important to attend to task-relevant cues and block out any task-irrelevant cues.  When one feels distracted, one should try to refocus.

In order to improve one's concentration: Set specific goals to focus on daily and involve competition in practice.  This will help you focus in the here and now!
